The SBC's Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission framework — strongly pro-life, religious-liberty, traditional-marriage — aligns Abbott on SB 8, SB 10/11/763, SB 12/14/15, and the broader social-conservative package; he runs strongly with the SBC on essentially every published-priority dimension. Hinojosa runs against the SBC on abortion (SB 8 no-vote), LGBTQ (SB 14/12 no-votes), and church-state (SB 10/11 no-votes). The SBC does have a substantial immigration-reform strand (J.D. Greear, Russell Moore, Dwight McKissic) that complicates pure alignment with Abbott on Operation Lone Star. Abbott is the substantially closer SBC fit; Hinojosa picks up only the immigration-reform-strand credit. This is the cluster's clearest GOP-coded grader.
